Nearly Locked Up!

Hi All,

Its been 1 week and the brickwork of our house is finished! Only thing left to get to lock up is for the Front door & the internal access door to be installed!

The inside fit-out has also started; the electrical, gas & power switches have been wired through the house, the heating & aircon vents are in & the bath tub has arrived!

Roofs Up!

Hi guys,

Its now nearly 1 month since we started & our guttering & roof tiles have gone up!

All is looking very good & more & more like a house!

The bricks & the sand for the cement has been delivered too, so hopefully the rain will stay away & they can make a start on the bricks too!

We're now getting very excited!

Can't believe how quickly its coming along - fingers crossed they keep up this pace.

Stage 2 - Frame completed

Its the 02/08/08 and the trusses are up & the frame is complete!


And to top it off the windows & sliding doors have been delivered & installed too...

We've had an independent inspection & have noted some minor adjustments that need to be made: a few nails for additional support in the outer corner studs, bracing to the upper trusses & central support packing blocks under the windows to stop them bowing.

The roof & bricks should only be days away....

Frames up!

Ok, here we are!

Our building site is finally starting to look like a house!

The frame of the walls has quickly gone up on the 27/07/08.

Its all looking good for Christmas move in, just as long as they get the roof trusses up!

We have lift-off!

Here we are 3 months after we finally picked our house, following endless months of viewing display homes.

If you don't already know, we fell in love with & decided to build the Rouge 340 by UrbanEdge Developments.

We've managed to get through the plan alteration, the tender, the contract & the finance approval & finally have some movement on our block in Ulmara on the Maribyrnong.

It all started with some soil movement & a porta-loo on the 11/7/08 , followed by digging & installation of pipes on the 14/7/08, then mesh, wire & waffle pod was visible on the 17/7/08.

But the real excitement began with the laying of our slab on 18/7/08.

Next installment.... the frame.... fingers crossed.
